After missing the last Satisfy LSD run in London, I was quite excited for this next edition, especially because it was organized alongside Mental Athletic to celebrate the release of their second issue. There’s something special about all these LSD runs happening at the same time in different places all over the world, proving Satisfy’s mission of bringing culture into running. They also become a meeting point for like-minded individuals, or at least people with long hair, tattoos, and band t-shirts (maybe not all, but you get the point). It was a great time not just to see some familiar faces again but also to meet new friends.
The run set off from Knees Up, the newest running spot in the city—a space for runners to meet up, recover (aka binge on Good as Gold's fabulous coffee and food), and embrace projects like this.
We did a 15k loop going all the way down south, crossing Brick Lane where the locals were setting up their market stalls. When they saw our crew running together so early, they started clapping and even recording videos.
We crossed the river via Tower Bridge, which luckily wasn’t crowded with tourists yet, and ran by the river all the way to Westminster Bridge. There, we had to navigate through the peanut sellers, families, and couples getting their wedding pictures with Big Ben in the background.
The rain caught us at the very end of the run, but it wasn’t too miserable considering the terrible weather of the previous days. A table full of pastries, granola, and filter coffee awaited us. The sun came out, and we enjoyed a nice conversation in the outdoor space.
Thanks to Tommy, Gabrielle, Oliver, Ian, and everyone else who organized the event. Until next time!
